Being new to the area I did not have a handyman of choice. So I called many handymen services to see who could come out the same day and he was by far the most friendly, helpful and informative. He arrived on time and worked quickly and efficiently. He did great work and I will 100% be calling him again and have already given out his contact info to a few of my friends. Dan came and did a great job. I had a garage cabinet I needed taken down. He called to verify the appointment, he showed up right on time. He took it down and hauled it away quickly. It saved us a ton of time. I would recommend him and his work in the future.

Dan is the man!! Great communication through Yelp message app throughout the entire process. He was super knowledgeable and was able to expertly diagnose the problem with my front door being stuck/hard to open due to a mechanical issue with the latch door handle’s machinery. He also drove to Home Depot for me to pick out a replacement that fits with the design of the door. He helps with all types of doors. For example, He even fixed my wooden backyard latch door that leads to the garden pathway. I would highly recommend Dan – San Diego Handyman – for repairs and door issues.

Dan came the same day I called to repair a hole in my drywall caused by a door handle. Even though it was a relatively small job, he returned my Yelp inquiry right away and fit me into his schedule. The home repair/improvement industry is filled with flaky, non-communicative people. It was honestly really refreshing to have someone get back to you right away and to then both competently and quickly fix the problem for a reasonable price. He was also a really nice guy. I can definitely recommend him.

I hired Dan to install a pre-hung front entry door. He was friendly and communicative thruout the planning process, and his quote was significantly lower than other vendors I contacted.

The job required compensating for some eccentricities of how my home was built, but Dan came up with great solutions and I’m very happy with the end result.

The SD Handyman, Dan, helped us out with 2 projects. One was to restore a collapsed interior window frame due to the recent severe rain storms, which he sealed, and that prevented any further damage from subsequent storms. The second was creating a long wooden conduit in our garage to hide some wires. In both cases, the job was 10/10 and came out very aesthetic as well. If anything comes up in our home, if Dan can do it I’m gladly paying him to do it.

Dan is a consummate, professional and extremely skilled and very intelligent – he does not just take a job. He comes to look at the job, and therefore make sure that he has what he needs when he arrives to do the work.. my husband and I believe that he has the ability to take care of almost all problems and anything that is out of his scope. He has good recommendations for other professionals, such as an electrician, or a plumber. I almost had to leave this great review because I’m afraid that I won’t be able to get him when I need them but so it goes. If you get down to work for you, you are one lucky person.

Dan quickly responded to my request and provided me a decent quote based on the photos I provided him. He was very courteous to contact me, letting me know he’d be a little late due to the long line at Home Depot.

He was in and out in under 30 minutes. Fast and efficient.

Had a broken tub spout due to hard water build-up and damage. Fixed it with no problem.

Dan is absolutely great. He has taken care of 2 projects for me. Bedroom remodel and, most recently, kitchen remodel. In both instances I felt like I was working with someone who genuinely shared the enthusiasm for the projects that I did. He worked with me to realize my design while giving constructive input on the ways to get it done in a way that saved on costs. The work itself was impeccable and professional. He, and his team, were always on time, worked relentlessly, and cleaned up each day.

I definitely recommend Dan and his team and plan on using his services for future projects. They do a great job at a great price.

Incidentally, the only 1 star review on here was from a gentleman that could not come to an agreement on price with Dan and got upset. Entirely over the phone, no services agreed to or started. Hardly worth the 1 star. Dan was working on my kitchen at the time.

Dan the handyman is awesome!! I submitted a quote request form via Yelp to see if a handyman could install 20 31″x 31″ mirrors on a 15′ wall and he responded really quickly and was able to schedule a time to install within a few days. Some of my mirrors arrived late and he was even able to come back out the next week and finish installing them. I felt his pricing was fair and reasonable for the job and was on target for his original quote (he even hung a few extra mirrors for me on other walls and fixed a cabinet door for me while he was here!). He took his time, measured and drew everything out before hanging, and nailed the spacing of 2″ apart perfectly. I really appreciate his desire to get them hung right! I have received an insane amount of compliments and friends wanting to do the same thing, even asking me who I had install them! Dan the Handyman of course! Thank you Dan!

Daniel was super communicative and provided an accurate estimate for his services! His quality of work is impeccable and his personality and charisma is even better. He came in and was able to assess what fixes he could do with his skill set and which ones might require someone else, which I appreciate a lot that he doesn’t do work that’s he’s not 100% sure he’ll be perfect at. He is a Jack of all trades though! Was able to come in and fix my baseboards, some cracks in the wall, some chipping in the ceiling and re-screen a screen door all at an affordable price and in a timely manner! He even came on a holiday, as it was my only day off. Very flexible and very much worth giving a call for your next home repair!

I had Dan come over to check on a leaky dish washer that also wasn’t turning on. While we had him, he also swapped out a blown wall outlet for me.

He had to go to a couple stores to find the appropriate parts for the dish washer and the outlet but was communicative of his travels. I’ve had guys run out to the store for me then go AWOL for hours without any reason or explanation. I had one straight up go to another job, leaving me high and dry for a few hours too many, so I appreciated the communication.

All together, a friendly guy who works fast to get the job done.

Dan was great at communicating with me about replacing my kitchen sink faucet and even texted me when he was on his way. (He was right on time!) While preparing for the installation, he discovered that the brand new faucet was flawed. He and his assistant jumped in his truck, returned it to Home Depot and was back with a new one in short time. Once he had the new faucet, it was short work for him to install even though it was a bit of a tricky installation with all we have ‘going’ under our sink.

Not only was Dan friendly and courteous, but went above and beyond what was expected. Dan charges a very fair amount for his service and I won’t hesitate to contact him again.

Like the other 5 star reviews Dan is a great find. He and his plumber work fast as if they are more concerned about what you are paying than you are. I could go on and on. Integrity, workmanship etc….just call them. No need to look any further.

I started with Dan redoing all the flooring and stairs in our La Jolla place but we added on extra projects as he is solid. If you value precision and quality of work, he will be a fantastic long term contractor you should know. He has relationships with plumbers, paint, and wall texture professionals if needed.
